Job Title: Tree Tops Trail Activities Supervisor

Based at: Tree tops Trail, Heatherton World of Activities, St Florence, Tenby, Pembrokeshire. SA70 8RJ

We are looking for high ropes instructors to work at Heatherton World of Activities, Tree Tops Trail for the 2022 season. The role would begin in March 2022 and run until October/November time. For the right applicants, winter work could also be available. You will mostly be running treetops sessions and zipwires but may be asked to run a couple of other activities occasionally.

There is very good and cheap accommodation available on-site for 2 applicants so it would be perfect for a couple or someone that doesn't mind sharing.

Applicants must be 18+ and obviously have a good head for heights! Experience of instructing high ropes or climbing is preferred (RCI (SPA) Trained would be an advantage) and applicants must be good talking in front of large groups of customers of all ages. Weekend working will be required with working hours averaging at 40 hours per week.

Heatherton World of Activities are looking to recruit a hardworking and friendly manager to organise and run our Tree Tops Trail. This will include managing many aspects of site operation including the organisation of staff, equipment, health and safety, customer care and administration. Key Responsibilities

Oversee a safe site, safe people (including both customers and staff) a safe course (infrastructure) and safe equipment.

Employ, train and build a happy engaged and professional team who can deliver an amazing customer experience.

Liaise with site managers to organise and plan both slot timings and allocations as well as managing existing bookings to maximise business opportunities.


Team management:

Assisting the site manager in the creation of staff rotas on a weekly basis.

Aiding the site manager in both the organisation and recruitment of staff.

Conducting induction meetings for all new staff.

Managing the performance of all employees and where necessary reporting performance and disciplinary issues to site managers.

Manage staff effectively on a day-to-day basis.

The right candidate will be willing to carry out activity sessions across the site.


Health and Safety:

Ensure a safe workplace environment without a risk to the health of both you, your employees and visiting customers.

Ensure that all health and safety policies, procedures, rules and regulations are adhered to and communicated with help from our H&S Executives.

Ensure the company meets its statutory obligations in all areas pertaining to health, safety and welfare at work.

Ensure all staff use equipment in a safe manner as trained.

Ensure the safe operation of the course.

Maintain the security of site, office and equipment.

Keep risk assessments up to date.

Keep a record of all site and course checks.

Ensure all participants complete a disclaimer form before carrying out a session.

Apply first-aid when necessary, appropriate to your skill level.

Report and record all accidents, significant incidents, near misses and rescues correctly.

Carry out periodical inspections and pre-use checks, recording any findings.


Personal Protective Equipment:

Check PPE each time it is issued to and returned by a customer.

Fit and remove customers PPE correctly.

Inspect and maintain site, PPE and other safety equipment, ensuring it is in good order.

Ensure site PPE is correctly serviced.

Maintain the PPE and equipment records as required.


Customer Service and Safety:

Assist with customer enquiries and bookings.

Welcome customers and prepare them to take part in site activities.

Ensure all participants are fully prepared to take part in available activities, and that they comply with company rules regarding height, weight, age and medical conditions.

Complete briefs in any of the available activities across the site.

Do everything within reason to minimise customer complaints and maximise customer satisfaction.



The right candidate must have previous managing experience and be able to show the ability to lead, manage, motivate, and delegate appropriately.

Excellent organisation and leadership skills.

Previous experience in providing a high level of customer service.

An SPA is essential, however, equivalent qualifications and experience will be considered. The correct candidate could also be put forward to complete the correct qualifications to suit the role.

Ability to work under pressure and to deadlines.

Confidence to ask for assistance and support when required.

An ability to maintain both site, structures and equipment is desirable.

Must enjoy working outdoors in a variety of weather conditions and be confident working at height.

It is an operational necessity that the right candidate is certified and prepared to conduct rescues. (Rescue training can be provided to the right candidate)

A level of qualification in First Aid. (First-Aid training can be provided to the right candidate)



Salary is dependent on skills and experience.

On-site accommodation may be available for the right candidate.

Heatherton World of Activities will fund all necessary training and vocational courses to further a candidates development to benefit both the business and the individual.

Working hours will average at 40 hours per week.

Weekend working will be required.

Holidays are gained on a pro-rata basis.
